We are seeking production partners to develop our feature film project which aims to bring the Belem’s exciting stories to life based on the recent book by Nicolas Plantrou (“Belem – Le roman d’une aventure”).
Embark on an extraordinary cinematic journey with us as we delve into the rich history and adventures of the majestic Belem – the oldest sailing ship from the ‘Belle Epoque’ and a bygone era of sail-driven exploration.
From its inception in 1896 in the historic shipyards of Nantes, France, to its remarkable transformations and enduring spirit, the Belem’s life has crossed paths with French chocolate makers, famous English Dukes, Dublin business tycoons, Italian Counts, Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens.
All the ingredients for a choppy blockbuster period drama.
Join us as we set sail to develop this creative venture.
Classified as a protected historical monument, the Belem carried the torch for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics sailing from Athens to Marseille.

(Belem, the story of an adventure)
- This yacht is a diamond to be polished. Afterwards, she'll be a yacht worthy of Bendor!
- Bendor?
- Yes, that's what we call His Grace. It's his...
- His nickname, cut in Chauvelon.
- That's right, his nickname.
- But why?
- The Duke was born in 1879. The following year, Bend Or won the Derby at Epsom. He was a magnificent thoroughbred, owned by His Grace's grandfather. He was then the Duke of Westminster, the very first. Since that race, His Grace has been called His Grace Bendor, and he wants everything about him to be racy.
